...so often the secular media & hollywood tries to mock celibate men by calling them "virgins", when in fact celibacy is a virtue & a strength & males who are non-sexually active for the Lord should be called "celibates" not "virgins. Virgin is a word traditionally used to describe women who have not had sexual intercourse prior to marriage, or at all, but especially prior to marriage, like the Holy Virgin (Mother of Jesus), and has always been a respectful term of endearment for women, but not normally used to describe men..its only recently that hollywood has tried to emasculate celibate men with films such as the "40-year-old virgin" etc. ..even some so-called Christians who are not celibate have at times called male Christians "virgins" in a subtle way to belittle them, when in fact it is at times because of their (those who r name-calling) own insecurity (I heard Frank Pastore refer to Tebow's "virginity" on his radio show, & he is a Christian radio guy...& I wonder if he was trying to be condescending...it was frank as well who said he thought the SNL skit about Tebow was funny...which I thought was irreverent & disrespectful)...(by the way, Jay Mohr, the actor, may have tried to belittle me likewise despite knowing nothing about my personal life)..& I suspect the gay community, or members of it, may be playing a part in this phenomena,..its spiritual warfare...just beware,..& when u have the opportunity defend graciously those who hold steadfast to godly virtues for the sake of the Kingdom ..men are celibates for Christ, woman are virgins for God..its called Biblical manhood & womanhood & is something to be greatly admired, respected, & revered (by the way, I wonder if even some at fuller seminary are behind the scenes in some of this)..
