12/12/11 ATHEIST GROUP KNOCKS OUT SANTA MONICA NATIVITY SCENE part 2..a group of churches in & around santa monica have sponsored a 14 scene nativity display on the bluff along the street in santa monica for 60 years now (I remember seeing it for the first time a few years ago) ..& up until lastyear nobody has ever contested it..but suddenly an atheist & his companions (presumably) decided to apply for 10 of the alloted spaces available & posted a bogus anti-religion quote by thomas jefferson, & didn't use most of the other spaces...the problem being that the nativity scene has been reduced to 3 spaces because the atheist group has the other 10 spaces reserved & are using for essentially nothing...ie it appears they simply reserved the spaces solely for the purpose of blocking the nativity scene ..this is the director of the nativity program talking to frank pastore on kkla about it (also see part 2)
