12/12/11 COLT McCOY's DAD (rightly) UPSET RE HIT BY HARRISON & KEEPING HIM IN THE GAME: [Browns McCoy was hit hard by Steelers' James Harrison, & Harrison was flagged for a personal foul (altho has not yet been fined by the nfl)...but even after being laid out flat by harrison & what colt's dad says were signs of concussion, the coaches put him back in the game (& he threw an interception). Brad McCoy says: "He never should've gone back in the game. He was basically out (cold) after the hit. You could tell by the rigidity of his body as he was laying there. There were a lot of easy symptoms that should've told them he had a concussion. He was nauseated and he didn't know who he was. From what I could see, they didn't test him for a concussion on the sidelines. They looked at his (left) hand.'' Shurmur said that McCoy was indeed examined, with the Browns staff following normal protocol...." http://www.huffingtonpost.com/mobileweb/2011/12/09/james-harrison-colt-mccoy-hit-video_n_1138694.html You can see the helmet-to-helmet dirty hit here on YouTube. It seems to be very clearly a cheap shot. Why not a fine AND a suspension? A hit like that could end a person's career, or worse.
