Calvin fourth in latest Division III Learfield Sports Directors' Cup standings

Calvin College is ranked fourth in the nation in NCAA Division III in the Learfield Sports Directors' Cup fall standings.The Knights completed the fall sports season with 262 points in the all-sports competition, trailing leader Washington University (Mo.) with 372, Middlebury (Vt.) with 359 and Amherst (Mass.) with 264.Hope College is in 14th place with 155 points in the fall standings.Calvin collected 90 points from its men's soccer team that finished as national runner-up. It also earned 64 points from its volleyball team, which reached the round of 16 in the D-III tournament, 57 from its men's cross country team's that finished 11th in the nation and 51 from its women's cross country team that finished 13th.Calvin, one of just six D-III programs to finish in the top 25 every year of the award, achieved its highest finish in school history with a fifth-place showing in last year's competition.http://www.mlive.com/smallcolleges/grandrapids/index.ssf/2011/12/calvin_fourth_in_latest_divisi.html
