(May 1,2007) QUESTIONS MOUW ALLEGEDLY HEARD AT A PRESS CONFERENCE IN SOUTH KOREA:[did somebody REALLY say "Are you often embarrassed about the ways Christians witness to others?" that just strikes me as ODD ..it does NOT sound like a question somebody would ask, but more like a question Mouw would insert in the list to further his agenda . Ironically, despite Fuller being an "evangelical seminary" Mouw is the LAST person who you would find doing any kind of street evangelism ..you can be certain he wasn't doing any back during his calvin days either...nor even around the community when he attended 1st crc in grand rapids ...mouw was infatuated with philosophy & smoking his pipe ...this is NOT a die-hard kind of fellow who would be the 1st to volunteer for a mission to africa ..& he's criticized rick perry for talking about public prayer..or actually engaging in public prayer..its ENORMOUSLY IRONIC (ie contradictory) that Mouw is largely, in fact, anti-evangelical, despite being the president of an "evangelical seminary"...its actually embarrassing...he seems to think there is a "proper, refined" manner to conduct evangelism...which if he could teach us all how to do...the world would be so much better...BUT HE DOESN'T TEACH US NOR DOES HE DO IT ! he regularly plays "armchair quarterback" on issues of all sorts but then again what has he DONE ?! He's been in academia ALL his life..no real world experience, not even from the pulpit (he was never a pastor) ...".... How can we be gentle in defending the truth without slipping into relativism? Am I often embarrassed about the ways that many Christians witness about their faith? Can Christians legitimately participate in interreligious services and ceremonies?
