MY GREAT-grandpa Abraham Peters (father of Leo) actually had more of a humanitarian legacy as one of the founders of Pine Rest Hospital (which is a Christian institution that cares for the mentally ill, and where my father, Jim Kok, was a chaplain for fourteen years, and where I, myself, worked for a year after college as a mental health worker back when psychiatric care was coming to the end of its heyday in terms of what insurance would cover)
