1/6/11 DIA DE LOS REYES MAGOS (3 KINGS)(also Epiphany) (& for Armenians it is Christmas today, while for orthodox Christmas is tomorrow) monastery m:"Today is the 12th day of christmas..for convenience sake..been moved to sunday..called epiphany..but in other countries still..where tv hasn't taken over..eskimos..parts of mexico...chapas..celebrations revolve around church festivities..in latin america today they have a rosca..like a giant christmas wreath..its a donut..twisted..big..inside it is a baby Jesus..then..for feast of purific..its their turn to host..@ feast of purific..baby Jesus sitting up..whoever gets that hosts feast of martrydom ..down in mexico..northern mex..now a costco by our church..makes materialism rise..europe..church is dead..where a great cathedral was..now its a beer garden..today Jesus returns..but not baptized in our calendar until Sunday..he returns filled with the spirit..power of the spirit..see spirit working in Jesus..He gives us the same spirit..to energize us..thru prayer life ministry..peace justice..first reading reminds us..profindity..love one another..not easy..for some to love..or we r difficult to love..imp to see christ in one another..spirit.to give life..kindness..spirit praying in us..be open to that spirit..
