2/17/11 LIVE ! The GREAT ZAMPERINI, AMERICAN HERO, IS SIGNING @ EL CHOLO. at 1121 s. western ave in Los Angeles , 7pm!..this guy has an INCREDIBLE story, age 94 or thereabouts, he ran in the olympics, had the bad luck to shake Hitler's hand after the race (before the war), and then became a P.O.W. in The war, including 30-some days adrift at sea in a raft w/ two others, one who died at sea..they eventually drifted 2000 miles to Marshall Island which, unfortunately, was controlled by the Japs at the time, & so Zamperini & his comrade were taken as war prisoners ..& the incredible story continues..buy his book or check out some of the story vids here on Tube. ..I saw zamperini @ crystal cathedral..he's a believer, wore his USC hat the entire service, ha ha,, has a sense of humor..& his big supporter is another Olympic competitor (& winner), John Naber, the gold-medal swimmer...also a great guy..I think I saw him there as well (don't know him personally but he emails periodic updates re zamperini's latest events) ...so here's to Zamperini..I didn't have a copy of his book (yet) & the line was LONG, so I walked up & snapped a quick vid for all his fans to see (sorry, he was a little ways away surrounded by people..but you get the picture, right?)..God bless Zamperini, & thanks To John Naber for keeping us updated. I hope Zamperini feels loved by the American people. He could have easily been the one who died on the raft...the story is a real miracle, even though one died. Clearly, Zamperini has a story to tell for a HIGHER purpose, Glory be to God !
