 m: "St. Polycarp..disciple of john..polycarp died around 156..he & ignatius were both disciples of john..poly was bishop of smyrna, mentioned in revelations., imagine him talking to john ..he could have so much to share.poly & ignatius & clement are left w/ leadership..they came immed after apostles..same feeling we may have without parents..at 86 poly was burned..but didn't burn..

 they tried to convince him to offer incense to caesar...but he refused..this is first reliable account of martyrdom..w/ my brothers traveled thru salt lake city..dose of mormonism..realize their teaching is of a great apostasy..that the church compromised ..

so they say joseph smith had to restablish the church..but Jesus said I will be with u always..on this rock build church..bishop of antioch..said ur mind is surely grounded like unchangeable rock ..didn't veer...very careful..polycarp was resolute in truth..pass on faithfully so we could be here 2000 years later..there was no great apostasy..our task to carry on like the apostle the fathers..we tell the truth handed on 2000 years. Ago..to now..great faith that saves us..unchangeable rock..not media..not sensory delights..rock is our savior

[a "novice" testimony] asked thomas more (?) to share some of his story..coming in to our order..my grandfather..talented carpenter..tools..justice & loyalty he showed..part of his character.he learened tenacity obedience..taught us same..when I was 8, grandpa had tumor..weekly at mass prayed 4 healing of grandpa..."thy will be done" ..died jan 10 1995..I held his hands..actng god's will ..cried..sometimes still miss him..obed to god must be constant esp when hard..kind loving faithful..they convnced me by their example..loving relationship w/ god..blessed by loving home..when 12 told parents I wanted to be priest..but they never pressured me..they sacrifced for me..we know we r loved..life wasn't a walk in the park..still struggled to be a good catholic..longed to go to parties..not be an outsider.looked for univ..dallas surpassed my expect..plus time in rome..met dominicans..also wantd to be a teacher...hope when I die can say 'thy will be done.'

Sir 4:11-19 "Wisdom breathes life into her children and admonishes those who seek her.
