10/14/11 HOLLYWOOD ACTOR, KIRK CAMERON, is MORE of a CHRISTIAN EVANGELIST NOW (See video at ) [ This is a partial transcript of Kirk Cameron's message at the "Deeper Conference" on October 14, 2011... I was also capturing a few videos & audio..so it's NOT complete.. can't do everything at once , but the message was about our place as Christians in the drama of God's unfolding kingdom here on earth ...as we prepare, ourselves, to 'LEAVE EARTH" and that was the title of his message ("Leaving Earth") ...he began with an overview of the Christian church..also made a few jokes, etc.] ...[He begins saying there was a time when he first...]  over prepared ..preached 1 hour 30 minutes ..ray joked ... we'll have to call this the "longer conference "...I said better watch out or i'll call it the "shorter" conference ..how do I find god's will fo my life..his answer..'god's will is not lost"..its in the instruction manual..open..B.I.B.L.E (L.E Is Leaving Earth) ..stressful concept..death of friends..I help terminally sick kids ..not an easy thing..ultimate rite of passage...born, marry, kids, born again...then we pass on..story he heard spurgeon tell ...re death..1 scared to die, other a christian ready 2 go, ...turned 41..what do before leaving earth ? Need to understand what god is doing..what's god's will ...how do we fit into the big picture? .[i think he said somebody's name...sounded like .sw fulzandie (?)]   "history is the autobiography of god" ..."his story", ..all world is a stage..drama of life being acted out, great cloud of witnesses..you are  a central character in a great drama ..the "inevitable triumph of gospel" ......history shows us mens hearts are evil by nature ..self-appointed gods in paper machete kingdoms .....need to know the story..acting lessons..imagine walking on to stage & not knowing your words or part..some assume if u love the main character enough everything will fall into place..but u have to know the script, understand story, know your part, 2nd, understand the lead actor..[ie don't over act or upstage the main character] ..I'm not a great actor, but I've been at it for a while..new actors..thinking only of themselves.. are self-focused ..imagine thinking u are todo in oz & its all about chasing dogs ..remember you are NOT the lead character..that would be Jesus ..presence & power gives focus to all the scenes..it's all about him, #3...don't underact either ...Some under-act, lukewarm,...others over-act like superChristian..some in church are over-saved [he's joking about those types of over-evangelical personalities who, for example,  when you say "I can't find my keys" respond "What you need are the keys to the kingdom" he's being sarcastic ] .... ...Pentecost is babel reversed ..god confused their language at babel, at pentecost..many languages to one language [yes, good point, that's a new thing I learned about Pentecost as well recently...ie the "reverse of the curse" ]  ..undrstand...America ... is built on Christian principles..america..sending more missionaries than any nation in history...that's where we come in ? Despite secular  humanism & atheism, is there hope ? YES ! Pilgrims came ..even without assurance of success,  ..so we can be optimistic..God sends His spirit @ pentecost ..he gets rid of temple in ad 70..& now the temple is all over the world..u & me & all believer, we are His temple... ! [that's the gist of his message, with some parts missing...that gives us an idea of our "role" in God's kingdom in the year 2012...to go tell the Good News, neither over-acting nor under-acting.]

I appreciated Kirk's message & style (down to earth). I went to this evangelism conference in Westlake Village over the weekend... it's organized by Ray Comfort & Living Waters ministries (which, coincidentally is based on Arkansas Street in Bellflower...which is what caught my eye at one point in time because my grandfather retired on Arkansas street, only a few doors down from where this ministry is...and Bellflower is where my grandfather started the Valley Christian schools and where he served as a pastor for the Christian Reformed Church (CRC) beginning in 1936 ... and where my dad grew up (partially)..I have photo albums showing the "old days" of Bellflower...which has a LOT of Dutch roots (which is my ancestory)...anyways, Kirk is actually younger than me (he said he just turned 41 or was about to).. & I didn't watch his show ("Growing Pains" ?) much, if at all ...not as much as I watched shows like the sitcom with Michael J. Fox and other shows like Happy Days, etc. but was aware of his presence as an actor from the tabloids etc. and have observed his shift as a "Hollywood actor" towards Christian evangelism over the years ... so it was fun to see & hear a "Hollywood actor" sound like an educated Christian talking knowing about Calvin & Luther, et al, & the history of the Christian church. He's a good speaker, with a lot of confidence & poise, & he's not overbearing. I also met his dad, once, when I was working as a substitute teacher while going thru seminary. His dad is a physical education teacher & I got assigned to cover a PE class at this school one day...and his dad was the other PE teacher.. wouldn't have known it was his dad but he specifically told me and showed me a video on his laptop of his son.. His dad was also a very nice fellow. I hope Kirk keeps doing what he's doing as an evangelist and promoting the Gospel  ..he has a lot of influence on young people because of his "hollywood" days.. so keep up the good work, Kirk.
