10/23/11 PRIEST's MESSAGE @ POLYCARP A BIT OFFENSIVE...I often enjoy this priest's homily, but today he got a little rambunctious & went out into the "audience" & started asking women if they think they are "pretty" ....based on the theme of the message to "love neighbor as self"...but he wasn't out there flattering them...he got a few laughs from the congregation, but when he resumed his message he told the women that the men don't want to wake up to somebody all"wrinkled up" who doesn't take care of themself anymore. Give me a break, pastor. Sure, women should take care of themselves, but aging is inevitable. Wrinkles are part of life, & men should becomes less superficial as they age along with their wife. If their relationship is still based on "looks" after ten or twenty years of marriage, they've got other issues. Usually I look forward to this straight-talking Asian's homily, but today I thought his message was shallow.
