Calvin grad Christina Overbeck qualifies for U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials

Christina Overbeck GRAND RAPIDS -- Christina Overbeck, a 2008 Calvin College graduate, became the third alumnus of the school to earn a spot in the field at the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials on Jan. 14 in Houston.
Overbeck, who qualified with a time of 2 hours, 44 minutes, 24 seconds at the California International Marathon on Dec. 14, in Sacramento, joins former Calvin track standouts Paul Petersen ('01) and Jed Christiansen ('10) as participants in the U.S. Marathon Trials. Petersen and Christiansen qualified for the men's field at the Chicago Marathon earlier in the fall.
