1/26/13 COACHELLA '13 ANNOUNCES MUSIC LINEUP for APRIL FESTIVAL:

My connection to coachella pre-dates the music festival ...I had never heard of coachella until I got an offer to teach there back in the mid-90's,,,and so I took a job teaching on the east end of the valley..where I stayed for two years...teaching mostly Latino kids at a rural high school (cvhs, "the arabs"),..great, but challenging, experience..and that was before the music festival made the word "coachella" world famous & associated with music. Prior to that coachella was more associated with golf,palm springs,polo fields, date trees, & a place you pass thru on the way from los angeles to arizona & beyond... NOW, today, Coachella Music festival is a huge event..& yet, I still have not been to one (not officially, that is..I was there once outside the grounds at the time & could hear the music...but its just too crowded & hectic for me,...)
1/26/13 COACHELLA '13 ANNOUNCES MUSIC LINEUP for APRIL FESTIVAL:

the Postal Service, returning indie champs
Phoenix, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Vampire
Weekend and, uh, the Red Hot Chili
Peppers. Modest Mouse, Lou Reed, Jurassic 5 (back together for the first time since 2007), the XX, Sigur Ros, Social Distortion and the Wu-Tang Clan are just some of the other acts
set to perform at Coachella 2013, which will
once again take place over two weekends..." (or is it three weekends this year?)
