1/12/12 HAVE U BEEN SCAMMED BY AN L.A. PARKING METER? ..its happened to me more than once, where. I'm trying to click on "less" and instead it automatically authorizes my credit card for MORE....SOMETIMES I MAY ONLY WANT THE MINIMUM BUT IT WILL CHARGE ME FOR THE MAX OR SOMEWHERE IN THE MIDDLE, MORE THAN THE minimum ..and u may say, big deal, its only a few extra quarters or dollars but that ADDS UP ! it not only adds up for you as an individual if you do a lot of parking around L.A. but It will also add up for the CITY ! ..I know it must be tempting for a cash-strapped city to to rig the meters in such a way that they r "trigger happy" but its unethical...the further problem is that its difficult. to prove as a customer..and they could say you made a mistake or you're not being. truthful...which makes customersless likely toask for a refund..but if you do complain they say they willcall or email you but in my case they never did, even after I called back at least three times..and gave them my information again..if you have had a similarexperience, leaave a comment, & try to document your experience with meter # and picture or video..they can't say EVERYBODY made a mistake or is untruthful...we could get a class action suit going against them and root out some corruption .. ...METER 73 @ SELMA & CHEROKEE NEAR BLESSED SACRAMENT
